What is the Purpose of CBA?

Canadian Booksellers Association is a not-for-profit national trade association. The purpose of CBA is to proactively help members become more professional and to promote their economic well being through education, information services and advocacy on their behalf.

Who Belongs to CBA?

Active Membership (based on gross annual sales volume)
General Trade, Campus, Speciality (e.g.Children's, Religious) and Used bookstores; Mail Order, Internet and Antiquarian booksellers

Affiliate Membership $106.00
Authors, librarians, sales reps and other individuals related to the bookselling industry

Associate Membership $371.00 (Small Press $212.00)
Publishers, distributors, wholesalers, manufacturers, and suppliers of sidelines and services to the retail book industry

Provisional Membership $132.50
Individuals planning to open bookstores

Student Membership $38.16
Must be enrolled full-time in a recognized university or college

In addition, there are honourary and complimentary membership categories. In short, anyone affiliated with the book industry can benefit from becoming a member of CBA.
